Notarial Act Fees (California Law)
The State of California sets the maximum fees a notary public may charge for notarial acts:
Acknowledgment – $15 per signature
Jurat – $15 per signature
Oath or Affirmation (when performed as a standalone notarial act) – $15 per person
Proof of Execution (Subscribing Witness) – $15 per signature
Deposition
Taking an oath – $15
Certificate – $15
Certified Copy of Power of Attorney – $15 per copy
These fees are regulated by California law and cannot be exceeded.
Mobile Travel Fees
Pacific Notary Services is a mobile service. Travel fees are not required by law and are separate from notarial act fees. Travel fees vary based on location, distance, and appointment details.
Travel fees are quoted and disclosed prior to confirming the appointment.
Travel fees must be agreed upon prior to the appointment.
Loan Signing Services
Loan Signing Agent services are available for real estate–related document signings, including buyer, seller, and refinance packages.
Loan signing fees are flat-rate per appointment
Pricing is based on document type, travel distance, and lender or title company requirements
Fees are quoted prior to scheduling
Apostille Facilitation Services
Apostille facilitation services are available for documents intended for use outside the United States.
Apostilles are issued exclusively by the California Secretary of State
Facilitation fees vary based on document type, quantity, and processing requirements
Fees are quoted based on the specific request
Secretary of State apostille fees are separate.
Additional Service Fees & Considerations
Additional fees may apply depending on the appointment:
After-hours, weekend, or holiday appointments
Additional service fees may apply for excessive delays beyond the scheduled appointment time
Additional service fees may apply for complex appointments involving extensive document review, printing, or coordination requirements
Document printing, scanning, or copying (if requested)
Parking, tolls, or access fees
Cancellation or rescheduling fees may apply for appointments canceled after confirmation or when travel has already commenced
All applicable service fees, travel fees, and expenses will be disclosed and agreed upon prior to confirming the appointment.
